Position Overview

Student will assist staff or faculty in supporting the classrooms, labs, or departments. Duties may include, setting up, picking up, and checking-in classroom items for classes. May be requested to set-up audio/visual equipment, PowerPoint presentations, and/or computers for staff, faculty or students.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions

Studio Technician will oversee scheduling and access to the facility for after-hours used of recording studios, rehearsal facilities, and any other uses as deemed appropriate by the ACM@UCO staff.

 

Studio Technician  will regularly check email for after hours and communicate in a timely and conssitent manner with students making requests for use of facilities. 

 

Studio Technician will be responsible for all facilities and equipment during after hours use, including checking equiment in and out and ensuring proper treatment of facilities during use. 

 

Studio Technician will be expected to maintain a safe and courteous enviroment during after hours use and may be called on to act in case of emergency or other situation with appropriate response as dictated by teh ACM@UCO staff, UCO DPS, or other common sense practice, such as calling 911 in case of emergency.

Qualifications/Experience Required

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS Fall/Spring Semesters All student employees must be enrolled at least half time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half time enrollment for Fall/Spring is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. Summer Semester Undergraduate Work-Study students must be enrolled in 6 hours to work on campus and Graduate Work-Study students must be enrolled in at least 5 hours. All other students must be enrolled in at least 3 hours to work on campus. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in Fall classes in order to work on campus, but will be required to pay FICA taxes. If the number of hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum hours required to work, the student must obtain a letter from his/her advisor stating the number of hours needed to graduate. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

Detail orientated. 

Required character traits: Dependability, thoroughness, and initiative. 

Have senstivity of interncultural communication, and have good interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands

Repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms.

Visually identify, observe and assess. Ability to communicate with supervisor/students/colleagues. Regular physical attendance required.
