Advises prospective students and their parents about the University's programs and educational opportunities. Recruits students by attending college fair programs, visiting high schools, participating in campus recruitment activities, and/or other recruitment activities. Collaborates with other functions (e.g., marketing and School administration) in an effort to ensure up-to-date information is provided to potential students. Coordinates student recruitment activities and programs and may coordinate and/or provide campus tours. May develop recruiting, advising, and adjustment programs specific to international students. May develop orientation materials, handouts, and/or updates for students or prospective students.
Coordinates regional admissions workshops at high schools, community colleges, community centers and related venues to admit students and disseminate information about UCO to traditional student populations. Specifically work with diverse student populations to assist students through the admissions and enrollment processes. Maintain Community Partnership with organizations such as the LCDA, Urban League, OKC Hispanic Chamber of Commerce etc. Travels to recruitment events and private visits. Meets recruitment objectives as determined by the Director. Effectively gives campus tours. Develops and fosters a relationship with prospective students and constituents. This may include family, parents/guardians, and counselors. Provides excellent customer service when responding to questions, inquiries, and general interaction with prospects and their constituents. Collaborates to organize travel and event schedule according to school distribution. Assists in campus programs and projects for recruitment. Explains the admission procedures and requirements. Determines admissibility and acceptance of freshmen, concurrent and transfer credit for prospective and returning students in accordance with professional association guidelines, state mandates, and institutional policies. Reviews admission applications for completeness and accuracy; evaluates transcripts for curricular and performance requirements; enters admissions data on Banner system. Processes applications for admissions and determines admission decision for applicants on a daily basis. Coordinates with other departments for large admissions events to maximize opportunities for future students. Discusses options with inadmissible students for future enrollment at UCO. Maintains familiarity with all UCO, high school and community college educational programs. Develops and coordinates presentations, special campus visits, workshops, and on-campus recruitment events for prospective students. Targets and coordinates recruitment efforts directed for all prospective students including first-time freshmen, transfers, adult students, GED recipients, and other special populations. Counsels students regarding the admissions process, reviews admissions applications, conducts initial transcript evaluations, and determines admissibility of all student types in accordance with Oklahoma State Regent's Policy. Maintains familiarity with all UCO, high school and community college educational programs. Communicates with internal and external constituents to ensure successful student transition and responds to student correspondence in timely fashion. Position may work evening and weekend depending on recruitment schedule and will require use of personal cell phone to conduct university business. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requires a bachelor's degree in related field or 4+ years of equivalent work experience in chosen field that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
Experience in higher education. Willingness to travel throughout the state and/or region. Admissions and recruitment experience.

Strong decision-making and organizational skills delivered from a client-centered perspective. Ability to work well under pressure and give attention to details.
