Departmental Student Support Staff
Perform computer and customer service related duties in an office setting. Typical duties may include but are not limited to: typing, filing, answering telephones, customer service, scheduling appointments, and Microsoft Office experience.
Student support staff for the Department: Cover front desk, handle incoming/outgoing telephone calls, take messages and forward them to appropriate individuals, pick-up and put-up office mail, make copies, run campus errands, and offer typing support for correspondence/memorandums, reports, syllabi, etc., and, other duties/responsibilities as assigned. Some confidentiality required.
ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS Fall/Spring Semesters All student employees must be enrolled at least half time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half time enrollment for Fall/Spring is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. Summer Semester Undergraduate Work-Study students must be enrolled in 6 hours to work on campus and Graduate Work-Study students must be enrolled in at least 5 hours. All other students must be enrolled in at least 3 hours to work on campus. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in Fall classes in order to work on campus, but will be required to pay FICA taxes. If the number of hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum hours required to work, the student must obtain a letter from his/her advisor stating the number of hours needed to graduate. Experience working in an office setting not required, but preferred.
Must have good verbal and written skills; must be able to type a minimum of 45 wpm; must be proficient with MS Office Word; student must be approved through Financial Aid to work on campus; Federal Work Study Program (FWSP) applicants are encouraged to apply.
