Position Overview

Provide in-person and/or online academic tutoring to students. Maintain an effective and positive learning environment.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions

Tutor in trained field students as scheduled through the Oklahoma Center for Arts Education. Responsible for ongoing evaluation of student progress and encouragement. Complete all required forms for payment services each semester as required by University policy and procedures. Will work with small groups (15-40 students) to large open community events (100+ students). Responsible for ongoing evaluation of student progress and encouragement. Encourage and promote participation in each lesson for all students. May perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience Required

Requires a university degree in related field or 4+ years of equivalent work experience in chosen filed that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Requires the application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred

Tutor must have a Bachelor's degree and/or minimum of 2 years previous tutoring experience in his/her field. Must be recommended for this position from division head or program coordinator in his/her field (excluding rehired tutors).

Physical Demands

Repetitive movement of hands and fingers. Typing and/or writing. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Visually identify, observe and assess. Ability to communicate with supervisor/students/colleagues. Regular physical attendance required.
