Provide secretarial and administrative support for one or several department professionals or offices. Responsible for the functioning of an office or department. Initiates and handles correspondence relating to a department or program. Performs a variety of sorting and filing tasks; answers the phone, takes messages, and disseminates information; opens, sorts, distributes, collects, and delivers mail; performs a number of tasks such as posting and recording data. Produce documents of various levels of complexity, ranging from plain copy typing to the manipulation of data to create presentations. May make contacts of a sensitive, complex, and confidential nature. Responsible for providing various services to customers such as assisting customers in securing needed information and documents. May be responsible for departmental budget; managing calendars and appointments; event and meeting planning.
Opens and closes office and keeps front area clean and organized.
Inputs residents contracts, updates information into Banner, and reviews pas due accounts as assigned.
Assists students/parents regarding contract and housing questions.
Prepares and types requested Housing documents as requested.
Interacts with other departments concerning housing issues.
Assists the StarRez Portal Administrator with maintenance and updates to the Housing & Dining website.
Receives and documents all UPS & Fed Ex deliveries for students.
Conducts weekly review of accounts, active, terminated, and past due as assigned.
Provides information and instruction to students/parents on Housing policies and procedures.
Notifies students of past due account status and subsequent collection as assigned.
Maintains and updates all past due student files assigned.
Weekly review of promissory notes, which includes payments and defaults.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requires general education or vocational training or equivalent combination of education and experience. General understanding and use of office equipment.
Minimum 40 net w.p.m. keyboarding.
Two years of college or secretarial certificate.
Experience in a higher education environment.
Literate in computer usage and word processing including, but not limited to Word, WordPerfect, Excel and Access.
Excellent telephone etiquette, communication, interpersonal and public relations skills.
Ability to work well with others fostering a positive working relationship.
Ability to operate office equipment.
Ability to accurately type.
Ability to multi-task.

Must be self-motivated.
Ability to listen and synthesize directives.
