Perform computer and customer service related duties in an office setting. Typical duties may include but are not limited to: typing, filing, answering telephones, customer service, scheduling appointments, and Microsoft Office experience.
The Student Success Center Assistant will be responsible for the following duties: greeting office visitors, printing transcripts for the next day’s appointments, printing transcripts for repeat forms turned in by students, submitting forms and transcripts to the appropriate Advisor, preparing transcripts for each Advisor’s next day scheduled appointments, uploading documents, filtering and responding to emails, checking and distributing mail, answering the phone, checking voice messages, loading printer paper, making sure all needed computer programs are open and logged into at the start of business, emptying the recycle bin and shred pile, processing change of major/minor forms, making copies of any needed forms (i.e. change of major, degree check, permission to enroll, etc.), cleaning desk area, computer keyboard, and mouse at the close of business, corresponding with Advisors to check if there are any errands, discarding old or expired announcements that are on the bulletin wall, assisting students with questions, concerns, and directions, referring students to the appropriate campus resources, scheduling appointments, ensuring students are scheduled with the correct Advisor, and other duties as assigned.
ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS Fall/Spring Semesters All student employees must be enrolled at least half time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half time enrollment for Fall/Spring is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. Summer Semester Undergraduate Work-Study students must be enrolled in 6 hours to work on campus and Graduate Work-Study students must be enrolled in at least 5 hours. All other students must be enrolled in at least 3 hours to work on campus. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in Fall classes in order to work on campus, but will be required to pay FICA taxes. If the number of hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum hours required to work, the student must obtain a letter from his/her advisor stating the number of hours needed to graduate. Prefer UCO students with at least 15 credit hours earned. Previous office experience is preferred.
