Student will assist staff or faculty in supporting the classrooms, labs, or departments. Duties may include, setting up, picking up, and checking-in classroom items for classes. May be requested to set-up audio/visual equipment, PowerPoint presentations, and/or computers for staff, faculty or students.
Assist Food Lab professor with organizing and preparing the food for class each week. Assist students in running / programming the cash register. Follow and enforce food safety guidelines. Duties may also include setting up the lab prior to class, answering student questions, assisting instructor as needed, ensuring lab is clean at the end of the lab, washing towels and putting them in and out of dryer. May obtain a list of needed groceries from the instructor, inventory what is already available in the lab, shop for groceries each week, coordinate shopping time with the instructor. Assist students with overall running of Central Station Cafe. Other related duties as necessary.
ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS Fall/Spring Semesters All student employees must be enrolled at least half time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half time enrollment for Fall/Spring is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. Summer Semester Undergraduate Work-Study students must be enrolled in 6 hours to work on campus and Graduate Work-Study students must be enrolled in at least 5 hours. All other students must be enrolled in at least 3 hours to work on campus. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in Fall classes in order to work on campus, but will be required to pay FICA taxes. If the number of hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum hours required to work, the student must obtain a letter from his/her advisor stating the number of hours needed to graduate. Student will be required to have taken Food Safety & Sanitation class and Quantity Foods course. It is preferred that applicants have taken at least a Food Prep class.
