The Athletic Department at the University of Central Oklahoma currently supports over 400 student athletes in 14 sports including Football, Men's & Women's Basketball, Men's & Women's Golf, Baseball, Softball, Wrestling, Women's Track & Field and Cross Country, Women's Tennis, Women's Soccer, Women's Rowing and Women's Volleyball.
This position will work directly with the Athletic department to support all aspects of game day. This may or may not include events for football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, wrestling, softball, baseball and special conference/NCAA events.
This student position requires heavy, physical and manual labor. This position may require moving furniture, working outside on grounds, and /or helping with preventative maintenance.
Assist with all aspects of game day operations, including, but not limited to, equipment setup/teardown, tailgating/fanfest, promotions, on and off field/court entertainment, signage setup/teardown, ticketing, scorer's table, pre & post event activities, and other duties as assigned.
ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS Fall/Spring Semesters All student employees must be enrolled at least half time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half time enrollment for Fall/Spring is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. Summer Semester Undergraduate Work-Study students must be enrolled in 6 hours to work on campus and Graduate Work-Study students must be enrolled in at least 5 hours. All other students must be enrolled in at least 3 hours to work on campus. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in Fall classes in order to work on campus, but will be required to pay FICA taxes. If the number of hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum hours required to work, the student must obtain a letter from his/her advisor stating the number of hours needed to graduate. Students interested in this position will need to have flexible schedules. Evening & weekend availability is preferred.
Physical Abilities: Ability to stand and walk regularly for long periods of time. Ability to use hands regularly. Ability to reach with hands and arms frequently. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl regularly. Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 10 pounds regularly. Ability to lift, push, or pull over 10 pounds occasionally.
Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
Able to maintain confidentiality and have good interpersonal skills.
Must be highly motivated, dependable, possess independent work habits, and willing to accept other duties as assigned.
