Provide secretarial and administrative support for one or several department professionals or offices. Responsible for the functioning of an office or department. Initiates and handles correspondence relating to a department or program. Performs a variety of sorting and filing tasks; answers the phone, takes messages, and disseminates information; opens, sorts, distributes, collects, and delivers mail; performs a number of tasks such as posting and recording data. Produce documents of various levels of complexity, ranging from plain copy typing to the manipulation of data to create presentations. May make contacts of a sensitive, complex, and confidential nature. Responsible for providing various services to customers such as assisting customers in securing needed information and documents. May be responsible for departmental budget; managing calendars and appointments; event and meeting planning.
Manage close to 40 different accounts for various organizations. Code financial purchases in PaymentNet. Create requisitions in Banner. Fill out paperwork for check requests. Gather W-9’s, Service Agreements, Entertainment Contracts, and Guest Speaker Contracts. Track expenses on excel spreadsheets. Deposit student organizational dues. Manage University purchasing card and purchases. Manage both group and staff travel expenses. – 40%
Work collaboratively with various student organizations, as well as staff to carry out financial planning and event management of social justice and cultural education events and programs. - 20%
Deliver correspondence, arrange meetings, facilitate communication, manage office, maintain inventory of supplies, and notify attendees of events. – 15%

Requires general education or vocational training or equivalent combination of education and experience. General understanding and use of office equipment.
Minimum one year experience in office or secretarial work. Minimum 40 net w.p.m. keyboarding. Experience in a higher education environment. Two years of college or secretarial certificate.
